Body Care Tips

Whilst it comes as second nature to take care of our faces with morning and evening rituals: cleansing, exfoliating, moisturising and treating with elixirs and masks; let’s not forget the rest of our skin, from the neck down. Pretty please.  Our body needs just as much love and attention as our beautiful face. After all, the skin is the largest organ of our body. A minute or two of everyday body care basics can make a profound difference, not only to the beautiful glow of our limbs, but also to our physical health.

There are plenty of simple, yet effective ways to look after the skin on our bodies that not only leave the skin feeling smooth and revitalised, but also work wonders for improving our lymphatic and energetic systems.

Here are a few easy ways to keep your body looking great and feeling even better:

Dry body brushing

One of the most beneficial habits for you to slip in to your morning ritual, body brushing is your first step before a shower or bath, and is, as the name suggests, done on dry skin. Tightening, stimulating circulation, minimising cellulite, improving digestion and cleansing the lymphatic system are just some of the numerous benefits of dry body brushing. You can read more about the benefits of dry body brushing and how to do it HERE.

Exfoliating

Just as the face benefits from exfoliation, so too the body benefits from a good scrubbing, to slough away all those dead skin cells aka dry flaky skin.  Not only does regular, once-a-week exfoliation reveal smooth, glowing skin, it also helps your other personal routines – such as tanning and waxing – to look better and last longer.

Moisturising

Nothing feels quite so luxurious than taking a moment to give yourself a mini self-massage with a good quality organic moisturising lotion, oil or balm. It needn’t be a long arduous task. Just a minute or two is all it takes to ensure soft, hydrated, glowing skin. The key thing to remember is to choose one made from high quality organic ingredients such as plant oils and butters. Depending on how rich you love your products, or how dry your body is, we have a moisturiser to suit your desire and requirement.

Practicing gratitude

When implementing these body care basics in to your daily life, please remember to be mindful, practicing gratitude. Start at your feet and work your way up your legs, buttocks and tummy with gentle massage motions that stimulate circulation. Finish with gentle kneading of your arms. Take this opportunity to practice kind self-talk, gifting a little self-acceptance and gratitude to your body. Thanking it for all it is and all that it has the potential to be: providing you with the possibility to walk, run, swim and dance. Who knows … these simple daily rituals might just be the very thing that we need in order to improve the relationship that we have with ourselves. Filling up our cup so that it then overflows in to the lives of our loved ones.
